I’m Pretty Sure I Can, But I Don’t Want To Do That And Demolish Their Confidence, So I Stay Away From Them”

Michael Jordan has never hidden his confidence in the things he thinks he’s capable of doing on and off the court. He’s now the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, a struggling team in the NBA, and Michael has tried to do everything to make that squad a competitive one. However, his attempts have been useless as the Hornets keep wandering around in the Eastern Conference.

He’s well aware of the quality of his team, as he revealed in an interview in 2015 with France’s L’Equipe. At the time, a 52-year-old Jordan was asked if he could beat his Hornets player one-on-one, as to what he replied like only Jordan knows:

L’Equipe: Do you think you can play against some of your guys right now? Do you sometimes do that or not? Could you win on one-on-ones against them?

Jordan: I’m pretty sure I can, so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence. So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good…but I’m too old to do that anyway.

Well, that doesn’t seem like a good way to boost your players’ confidence, but MJ is not here to please anybody. Besides, that actually may be true. Back in 2013, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist revealed he once played against Jordan and lost. Now the GOAT is 57, but seeing the current status of his team, it wouldn’t be crazy if he’s still dominating his own players.
