The Los Angeles Clippers have waived point guard Isaiah Thomas, reports The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Thomas, 31, was traded from the Washington Wizards in a three-team swap ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline, with former first-round pick Jerome Robinson heading to Washington. The focal point of the deal, however, was the Clippers’ acquisition of forward Marcus Morris Sr. from the New York Knicks.

The two-time All-Star saw mixed results in 40 appearances with the Wizards. He’s shooting a career-best 41.3% on 3-pointers, and his 12.2 points per game are an improvement on last season’s career-worst rate of 8.1.

However, Thomas’ production is still miles away from the lofty heights of the 2016-17 season, when he scored 28.9 points per game and was named to the All-NBA second team as a member of the Boston Celtics.

He also contributed to the Wizards’ league-worst defense. With Thomas on the floor, the team allowed a porous 120.2 points per 100 possessions; when he sat, the defensive rating improved to 112.5.
